Ingredients

pasta
Penne or elbow
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cup milk
1/2
tsp
dry mustard
1/4
tsp
salt
1/4
tsp
white ground pepper
or black ground pepper
1/8
tsp
garlic powder

shredded cheese
about 2 cups
Instructions
1. Boil pasta according to package directions.
2. While pasta is boiling, melt butter in another sauce pan.
3. Stir in flour and cook over low heat for 1-2 minutes.
4. Whisk in milk.
5. Add dry mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
6. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally to avoid scorching. The mixture will begin to thicken as it heats up.
Do NOT bring to a boil.
7. Once your mixture has thickened, remove from heat and slowly add cheese while stirring.
8. Drain pasta and return to pan.
9. Pour cheese mixture over top, stir, and serve.
