Ingredients
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup salted butter
1/4 cup molasses
1 item large egg
2 1/4 cup all-purpose flour

baking soda

ground cinnamon

ground ginger
1/2

ground cloves
1/4
tsp
ground nutmeg
1/2
tsp
salt
sugar for rolling (recommended cane sugar)
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, add the sugar, butter, molasses, and egg.
2. Beat on medium until light and fluffy.
3. Add in the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, and salt.
4. Stir well until fully combined.
5. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
6. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
7. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
8. Pour some cane sugar into a small bowl for rolling.
9. Use a medium cookie scoop to shape the dough into approximately 1" balls. Roll in sugar and place onto baking sheet.
10. Bake for 9-10 minutes or until just set (they will puff up then flatten while baking).
11. Remove from oven and let stand on cookie sheet for 1 minute before transferring to a cooling rack.
